Craig Epps and Democratic Slate to Host Community Meet-and-Greet in Hillside

HILLSIDE, NJ — With the general election season heating up, Democratic mayoral nominee Craig Epps and his endorsed council team are inviting the Hillside community to a grassroots Community Talk & Refreshments event on July 29, 2025, from 4PM to 7PM at Two Lucky Convenient Store (154 Hillside Ave).

The event offers residents a chance to meet the full Democratic ticket in a casual setting and discuss the issues most important to Hillside families. Alongside Epps, attendees will hear from:

  • Councilwoman Lisa Bonanno

  • Council at Large Candidate Armando DaSilva

  • Council at Large Candidate Calvin Lofton

  • Councilwoman Dr. Angela Garretson (2nd Ward)

Epps, a retired East Orange police officer and current Hillside Council President, was recently endorsed by the Hillside Democratic County Committee in a decisive 16–8 vote over Councilwoman Andrea Hyatt. His campaign has emphasized public safety, transparency, and everyday leadership that puts Hillside residents first.

“This event is about building bridges—not just votes,” said Epps. “We want to hear from our neighbors, connect face to face, and talk about how we move Hillside forward—together.”

The meet-and-greet is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
